Captain Invincible and the Space Shapes

Hello everyone! Most of children love adventure stories which are related to fantasy and let them play with their imagination. For that reason, learners would be very interesting in reading books with mix extraordinary stories with Geometry. It could as extra material to bring to school, because the book costs six euros more or less. I leave here the link of the webpage to buy the book and the cover image.  https://www.amazon.es/Captain-Invincible-Space-Shapes-MathStart/dp/0064467317?ref_=Oct_BSellerC_13356088031_0&pf_rd_r=QS6AHB1G7GYTD9WWKGXA&pf_rd_p=953fd6d4-d0d7-51ec-b6b2-6038ced4f74c&pf_rd_s=merchandised-search-5&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_i=13356088031&pf_rd_m=A1AT7YVPFBWXBL

Cabri Geometry

Hello everybody! Apart from using GeoGebra, there are other online applications available for children to experiment with Geometry and also with other aspects and contents of Mathematics. It works especially the properties of the geometry of solid. This app which is called Cabri, I recommend it to use it with students from Third Cycle (Fifth and Sixth Grade of Primary Education). If a teacher downloads it, one month is free, so for a didactic unit serves. It is very useful to work software and computer activities with children inside the classroom and they can practice at home too with their parents. I leave here the link:  https://cabri.com/en/instructor/cabri-3d/

Geometry song

Hello everybody! We all know that children love to have fun singing and dancing, so with a song, it would be much easier for children to start getting some small knowledge about geometry and its basic concepts. I have found this song which lyrics are sung very quickly, so it is better for children who belong to the Third Cycle, Fifth Grade of Primary Education. There are several songs inside the same video enclosing different topics about Geometry. Teachers could play on this video in the classroom in order to catch students' attention.

Math is fun

Good night! I have found a webpage in which children have the opportunity to play and draw with objects, experimenting with them and observing the different forms and shapes which can be performed. In addition, it shows videos in which students can watch how to use a protractor, a ruler, a compass or a drafting triangle. I leave here the link:  https://www.mathsisfun.com/geometry/

Free video game

Hello everyone! I want to share a video game which is free and children can learn a lot. Teachers can perform this video game in class, but also parents can play with their children too and have a nice time. For kids, it will be very interesting to manipulate geometric shapes in order to perform a figure. https://www.commonsense.org/education/app/pattern-shapes-by-the-math-learning-center

Geometry for kids

Hello everybody! Obviously, children learn more with audiovisual resources and elements which has the essence to catch student's attention. For that reason, I have searched for an educational video in which appear geometric lines, geometric shapes and plane shapes. All the video is explained in clear English so the students will understand without any problem and learn new and useful geometric vocabulary, which they can assimilate to real life.

Introduction

Hello everybody, before you start watching what I have uploaded in this blog, I am going to present myself. My name is Federico, I am 20 years old. I have made this blog for the subject Didactics of Geometry, which corresponds to the Bilingual Primary Degree that I am studying at the University of Malaga.  I consider that this subject is very interesting to understand and to go in depth in order to research the comparations and similarities between the figures and the reality to make children observe easier the concepts and aspects of Geometry inside the subject of Mathematics. In my opinion, kids will be motivated to check the different positions of the figures, looking at their shapes and sizes. I let here some examples of geometric figures.
